Mcleod Ganj is the entrance to the Himalaya mountains. Residence of the Dalai Lama, this small town at 2000 meters of sea level is a very spiritual place. You will meet many monks here but expect that during the high season it gets very crowded with tourists. This place is very popular for backpackers as it’s a good starting place for longer hikes in the mountain.
Beware, in winter period it can get very cold.
